Garlic & Herb Blend for Cooking, Hand-blended salt-free dry cooking herb mix
Backyard Patch Hand-blended Herb Mix - Garlic & Herb Combination
(A salt-free blend)
In my family you are not seen as worthy unless you can create marvelous Garlic Bread. This blend was the culmination of my experiments. You can blend it with butter to make killer garlic bread, add it to tomato sauce for a marinara that is out of this world, and stir it into olive oil then craft bruschetta or toss it with pasta. All the above mentioned recipes are included. And we added a couple more. I have recently tired it as a marinade with great success.
The package hold 3 Tablespoons by volume and is a perfect combination of Italian herbs including basil, parsley, garlic, paprika, and black pepper.
Here is another recipe you can make with this Mix (the spaghetti sauce you see in the photos will be included with your purchase):
++Grilled Bruschetta Chicken++
4 small boneless chicken breast halves
1 tomato finely chopped
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil
blended with 1 1/2 Tbls Backyard Patch Garlic & Herb Combination
Place large sheet of heavy-duty foil over half of grill grate. Pour 2 Tbls. of Garlic and Herb Combination in oil over the chicken breasts in a plastic bag. Turn bag over a few times to coat chicken thoroughly. Refrigerate 10 min. to marinate. Remove chicken from marinade (discard excess marinade).
Grill chicken on uncovered side of grill for 6 minutes. Meanwhile combine cheese, tomatoes and remaining 2 Tbls. Garlic and Herb Combination in oil. Turn chicken over and place cooked side up on foil on grill. Top evenly with tomatoes mixture. Close lid. Grill an additional 8 minutes or until chicken is cooked through (170 degree internal temp.)
I make 45 different "Herb Mixes." Each is blended to make a specific food item, like a dressing, rub, dip or spread. Recipes and tips for using the blend are included. These are packaged in a zip seal pouch with decorative labeling.
Because I grow and blend the herbs myself I can assure you no preservatives or pesticides have been used. I can also guarantee that these blends will hold up to storage for at least 18 months and still provide a flavorful item.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and if you want this or another blend made without certain ingredients, please ask as I can accommodate food sensitivities.

At the Backyard Patch I craft blends of home-grown herbs to use in cooking and entertaining. Each mix comes in a zip seal pouch for easy storage along with tips, instructions and easy-to-follow recipes for creating herb-flavored delights. Although each was originally crafted to make a particular item, years of experimentation by customers and family has resulted in extra recipes and variations which are included with each mix.
Like all blends from the Backyard Patch we guarantee an 18 to 24 month shelf-life, because we hand-blend only the freshest herbs. All Backyard Patch herbs are raised organically and are chemical and pesticide free.
Although the weights vary each package contains three (3) tablespoons of the blend which in most cases is enough to make at least two recipes.
I have sets and samplers of these blends too, just check out our cooking herbs here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BackyardPatch?section_id=7417786
