Herbed Lemon Butter Pasta

This light, aromatic pasta dish highlights the bright citrus notes of lemon balm, the anise-like depth of tarragon and chervil, and the warmth of nutmeg. Perfect for spring and summer!

  • 8 oz pasta (linguine or fettuccine works well)
  • 2 Tbls butter
  • 1 Tbls olive oil
  • 1 Tbls Backyard Patch Pisces Herb Blend
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 Tbls lemon juice
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining. In a pan, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the herb blend, lemon zest, and nutmeg. Cook for another 30 seconds. Add the drained pasta to the pan and toss to coat. Stir in lemon juice and a splash of pasta water to loosen the sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Toss again, adding more pasta water if needed for a silky texture. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve warm! Pair with grilled shrimp, chicken, or a side of roasted vegetables!
