Recipes - Marinara Blend
Our Marinara Herb Mix makes a quick and tasty marinara dipping sauce or use it to flavor your pasta sauce. You can also add it to a plain jar of pasta sauce to add just the right seasonings.

Rotini Stuffed Skewers
- 1 jar plain spaghetti sauce
- 1 package of Backyard Patch Marinara seasoning
- Box of rotini pasta
- 1 cups ricotta
- ¼ cup shredded dry mozzarella
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/8 to ¼ cup milk (2%)
- 1 Tbls Backyard Patch Itailan Seasoning (or to taste)
- Basil leaves
- Grape tomato halves
For Pasta: Cook pasta according to package directions. A bit more than al dente, but not too soft. Lightly oil a springform pan and stand the rigatoni upright on the bottom ready to be filled with the cheese mixture.
For Marinara: Combine 1 1/2 Tbls Backyard Patch Marinara Sauce Blend, with 1 1/2 cups plain spaghetti sauce. Warm on the stovetop until heated through.
For Filling: Mix the cheeses, milk, and herbs in a bowl until well combined, then set aside. Once pasta is cooked and marinara is prepared, fill a pastry tube or a plastic bag with a clipped corner fill cooked pasta with cheese mixture.
For Skewers: Skewer the filled rigatoni alternating with basil and tomatoes, then serve with hot marinara. You can also lay skewers on a baking pan and spread with sauce and sprinkle with cheese and bake at 350 degrees until warm before serving.
Baked Ravioli with Marinara Sauce

- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup Butter seasoned with 1 tsp Backyard Patch Marinara Sauce Seasoning, melted
- 48 (about 10 ounces) small refrigerated cheese-filled ravioli
Marinara Sauce
- 1 1/2 Tbls Backyard Patch Marinara Sauce Seasoning
- 8-oz can tomato sauce
- 3 oz. tomato paste
- Enough water to moisten the seasoning
For Ravioli: Heat oven to 375°F. Combine breadcrumbs and cheese in bowl. Place melted butter and herbs in another bowl. Dip ravioli into melted butter, then into bread crumb mixture to coat evenly. Place ravioli on nonstick baking sheet. Bake 10-14 minutes or until ravioli are crisp and lightly browned. Serve immediately with warmed Marinara Sauce.
For Sauce: Moisten the herbs in water and allow to soak for 5 minutes. Add to tomatoes and heat in a microwave for 30 sec to 1 minute until warmed through Serve with Baked Ravioli
To make ahead, prepare ravioli as directed except do not bake. Layer between sheets of waxed paper in a resealable plastic freezer containers. At serving time, remove from freezer. Heat oven to 375°F. Place desired number of ravioli onto nonstick baking sheet. Bake 12-14 minutes or until ravioli are crisp and lightly browned. Serve immediately with marinara sauce.
