Cinnful Dessert Blend

Cinnful Dessert blend - Backyard Patch Herbs version of a Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie Spice mix. Not as bitter as some blends, this has a nice tart finish from lemon peel that makes it a perfect substitute for plain cinnamon in any cookie or oatmeal recipe or on your cinnamon toast. It is also the best substitute for traditional pumpkin pie spice. The package holds 2 Tablespoons so you can make many recipes with this. Contains cinnamon, lemon peel, cloves, ginger, nutmeg. A sheet of possible recipes is included with each purchase.

Like all blends from the Backyard Patch we guarantee an 18 to 24 month shelf-life, because we use only the freshest ingredients. All Backyard Patch herbs are raised organically and are chemical and pesticide free.

This mix comes in zip seal pouch for easy storage and contains enough to make several recipes.

Cinnful Roasted Nuts
If you must avoid peanuts, omit them from the recipe and increase the other nuts to 1 cup each then make the recipe as listed.

one 8-oz. jar dry-roasted peanuts
1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup walnut halves
1 egg lightly beaten
1 tsp. water
3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbls. Backyard Patch Cinnful Dessert Blend
3/4 tsp. salt

Combine the nuts. Mix together the egg and water and toss with the nut mixture. Combine the sugar, spices and salt and toss that with the nuts until they are well coated. Spread nuts in a single layer on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Break up any large clusters and allow to cool.

Because I grow and blend the herbs myself I can assure you no preservatives or pesticides have been used. I can also guarantee that these blends will hold up to storage for at least 18 months and still provide a flavorful item. All Backyard Patch herbs are raised organically and are chemical and pesticide free.

At the Backyard Patch I craft blends of home-grown herbs to use in cooking and entertaining. Although each was originally crafted to make a particular item, years of experimentation by customers and family has resulted in extra recipes and variations which are included with each mix.

Although the weights vary each package contains three (3) tablespoons of the blend which in most cases is enough to make at least two recipes.
