"Shamrock" Loose Herb & Black Tea
Contains a flavorful mix of herbs and flowers with Irish Breakfast Tea
Shamrock Tea -- Special blend of Irish Breakfast Tea with Spearmint, Blackberry leaf, and rose hips makes a perfect blend to celebrate the Irish in you! This blend was originally created as a custom blend for the Annual Victorian Tea event of the Wheaton History Center in Wheaton, Illinois in 2000. We make the blend fresh to order, but a sample of an older label is included in the photos.
All herbal teas are packaged fresh with 1/2 cup loose tea in a zip seal bag.
Because we use only the freshest herbs, all blends from the Backyard Patch have an 18 to 24 month shelf-life guarantee for both the loose and bagged tea. All Backyard Patch herbs are raised organically and are chemical and pesticide free.
Herbal Teas often have medicinal qualities; but no medicinal applications are recommended without consulting your physician. Any medicinal claims made are strictly based on herb lore and not medical fact. Self-medicating with herbs should never be done without proper genuine medical advice. This is my disclaimer -- and I add, choose your herb teas because you enjoy them! I craft my teas for taste first.

How do I brew your teas for the best flavor?
How do I brew your teas for the best flavor?
Use 1 to 2 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea per cup of hot water. If the blend has green or black tea, only steep for up to 2 minutes. If it is 100% herb tea, steep for 5-7 minutes, then strain. For iced tea, double the amount of tea and pour over ice after steeping.

The Backyard Patch Herbs Story
Backyard Patch Herbs began with a simple belief: everyday herbs should be fresh, flavorful, and easy to use. What started as a backyard garden has grown into a ¾-acre herb paradise, where plants are grown, harvested, and blended with care. Every mix is thoughtfully crafted in small batches to help you cook, sip, and create with confidence—bringing garden-grown flavor and time-honored herbal know-how into your everyday routine.

Your guests settle in a little deeper, cups warming their hands, conversation flowing as the teapot makes another round. Someone closes their eyes after the first sip. Another asks, “What is this?”—and you smile, because the secret was a Backyard Patch tea blend.
Whether it’s a calming evening infusion, a bright afternoon pick-me-up, or a gently spiced seasonal cup, you didn’t need complicated techniques—just thoughtfully grown herbs, carefully dried and blended by someone who truly knows them. The flavor is clean, balanced, and full of character.
Now they’re asking which blend it was… and quietly hoping you’ll tell them where to find it.
